2027 - Baroque Without Words

Welcome to the 54th year of the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival's "Baroque Without Words". Artistic Director Jörg Reddin returns to California from the Bach Church in Arnstadt Germany with new and exciting programs created especially for this season beginning with our traditional opening fundraiser.

Concert 1 showcases the artistry of Maestro Reddin and baroque trumpeter Dominic Favia performing amid the beauty and wonderful acoustic of Holy Cross Church, followed by a reception to welcome the artists.

Once again, by popular demand, Maestro Reddin's solo organ interpretations will fill the lovely sanctuary of Calvary Episcopal Church with the Three Bs': Bach, Buxteheude and Bruhns.

The always delightful Chamber Music by Candlelight concert features Jörg with the renowned German baroque oboist Marianne Pfau and our own baroque flautist extraordinaire Lars Johannesson, plus performances by The Youth Vocal Competition winners.

Our season ends with one of America's premier baroque ensembles, Musica Pacifica, performing "Dancing in the Isles ": rousing baroque folk and dance music from early England, Ireland, and Scotland: a little something for everyone!
